The 2014 production was inspired by the anniversary of the founding of The School of Stitchery and Lace at what is now The Grange in Bookham.

Play In A Week took the audience on a journey through the history of sewing from cavemen, through World Wars and up to modern mechanised sewing. For this show our amazing props and scenery builder’s managed to make an old Singer sewing machine which stood over 6 foot high, ran on muscle power and dance, and sported a 2 foot needle!
